Against all those carefully built sets, the music and some of the characters fitting into that time period, Stanzi and the Emperor just don't work for me. Perhaps it's because of what I usually expect people to sound like in period pieces (whether they sounded that way or not), but those two stood out like sore gangrene thumbs...Bob Turnbullhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02243657105760780425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977893001776125260.post-40933918046817866462012-09-26T11:52:34.193-05:002012-09-26T11:52:34.193-05:00I like both these films. I saw her as exactly the kind of girl that Mozart, as presented in this film, would have gone for. The 80s movie girl that she would have played in a contemporary film is the exact equivalent to the character she played in Amadeus. In that respect I see her as very fitting for the role.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977893001776125260.post-39524309194650564492012-09-26T07:22:59.745-05:002012-09-26T07:22:59.745-05:00Thanks Dave...It's interesting that you mentio...Thanks Dave...It's interesting that you mention you liked Amadeus as a kid - my son saw it last year in his Grade 6 class and also liked it. It did actually feel a bit childlike in some sections...Bob Turnbullhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02243657105760780425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977893001776125260.post-40438601194373028672012-09-26T05:53:19.899-05:002012-09-26T05:53:19.899-05:00Great post.
