All three in the trilogy are great and contain terrific emotional dance scenes.

Marilyn, I'm guilty of only seeing his dance films so far (this trilogy and "Flamenco" - which I didn't like as much though Storaro's cinematography is stunning as always), but at this stage I'll watch anything he's done.Bob Turnbullhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02243657105760780425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977893001776125260.post-74186287226532902222008-05-07T20:27:00.000-05:002008-05-07T20:27:00.000-05:00Bob - I've been a huge fan of Saura's since I saw ...Bob - I've been a huge fan of Saura's since I saw Carmen way back when. I had the thrill of my life when I got to hear him speak in person at a screening of his film Iberia. He said that he has made many films, but seems only known for his dance films. Interestingly, he was a dancer before he became a filmmaker, thus his affinity for the subject. The trilogy is one of the best in dance cinema - interesting to see Cristina Hoyas as the lead in this one and "marginalized" in Carmen>

Thanks for stepping this one up for the blogathon.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977893001776125260.post-89126415372986814102008-05-07T19:37:00.000-05:002008-05-07T19:37:00.000-05:00This looks amazing. I love the Lorca play (and the others in the triology) and I've seen a version of the play without song and dance live, but this will be on my queue now.

-whitney (dearjesus.wordpress.com)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977893001776125260.post-89115586942709462292007-12-15T19:07:00.000-05:002007-12-15T19:07:00.000-05:00Hey cg...I'd to hear what you think if you see it....Hey cg...I'd to hear what you think if you see it. Just to clarify, it's part of the Eclipse line from the Criterion folks - so the discs have no extra features and they don't spend as much effort into the transfers (though it looks fine).

Thanks for the link!
