Having said that, I did love Merida as a character (admittedly, Kelly MacDonald's gorgeous voice didn't hurt) and I would very much like to see where she ends up.

Thanks for commenting as well Jessica - you managed to handle the 7000 comments on your Aging post, you think I could've have handled my measly 2 a bit sooner...B-) Bob Turnbullhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02243657105760780425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977893001776125260.post-91781490909490931992013-02-17T14:46:21.786-05:002013-02-17T14:46:21.786-05:00There are so many movies here that I haven't s...There are so many movies here that I haven't seen, but like Andrew I'm glad that you liked Brave.
Moonrise Kingdom was also one of my absolute top movies of the year.
You're absolutely right that even childhood movies could be included in the concept of aging. It's not something we just do from 45 and onwards: we start aging from the day we're born.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977893001776125260.post-33788342243435028182013-02-17T03:31:03.390-05:002013-02-17T03:31:03.390-05:00I like that you bring up "Brave", a movi...I like that you bring up "Brave", a movie I really liked. A movie's good when you wonder what happens to characters after the credits roll and with the aging thing wondering how much of a Merida was Elinor in her youth, or how much of an Elinor Merida might become (forced into "Queenly" duties) always seems to be looming over the narrative. You've got to grow up some time.

I like that both you and Jessica touch on "Skyfall", a film I wouldn't have considered under the "aging" tag.Andrew K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01104647944747041277noreply@blogger.com
