The Mad Hatter over at The Dark Of The Matinee was ever so kind in bestowing a Dardo award on my little blog-like site. I think I'll squeeze it in between that Ping Pong trophy from Grade 2 and that golf trophy from when I was 14 (and there were only 3 other people competing). That'll give it centre stage.
A Dardo is passed along from blogger to blogger to recognize the following:
Cultural, literary, and personal values in the form of creative and original writing. These stamps were created with the intention of promoting fraternization between bloggers, a way of showing appreciation and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web.
I truly think that's way over-stating my puny contribution to film discussion, but I'm pretty darn happy to receive it as I love being part of this wide community.
In accepting the award, I must do two things:
1. Accept the award by posting it on my blog along with the name of the person that has granted the award and a link to his/her blog (thanks again Hatter).
2. Pass the award to another five blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment, remembering to contact each of them to let them know they have been selected for this award
It goes without saying that it's tough to pick only 5 blogs...The following are not only some of my favourites, but do indeed raise the discussion level:
elgringo at He Shot Cyrus
Joseph B. at itsamadmadblog2
shahn at Six Martinis And The Seventh Art
Jeremy at Moon In The Gutter
Ed at Only The Cinema
Joseph B. at itsamadmadblog2
shahn at Six Martinis And The Seventh Art
Jeremy at Moon In The Gutter
Ed at Only The Cinema
I jump straight to their feeds whenever my Google Reader indicates a new post has been made by them. All 5 truly do meet the requirements of the award and drive me to think about and search out the films they discuss. I occasionally comment on their blogs, but nowhere as much as I'd like to - most of the time the comment would simply be along the lines of "What a great post!". I still want to eventually comment on Joseph's top music picks of last year...
It's entirely possible that all 5 have already received the award from others but haven't blown their own horns about it yet. If that's the case, just consider this my thanks for helping make my "hobby" a much more enjoyable experience.

Thank you so much, Bob!
Bob,
Thanks for the kind words and award! And you know... the great thing about blogging is that there's no expiration date on commenting!
"Six Martinis and the Seventh Art?"
That could be the best blog name I've ever heard.
