Happy People Dancing on Planet Earth

This could be my favourite Internet video ever:

Where the Hell is Matt? (2008) from Matthew Harding on Vimeo.

Thanks to Greencine Daily for finding it.

This is just a general comment on this wonderful blog inspiring me to watch movies I have never heard before from a beginning art directing/production designer point of view. Nicely capped screenshots and other information makes it very enjoyable to read.

Great job.

I have to say, as wonderful as the people are in this video, my favorite snippet has to be the one where he's dancing with the dog.

Items like these are what "internet videos" are all about, as far as potential. As opposed to someone like Chris Crocker.

Jamie,

That famous "Leave Britney Alone" video was either a lame over the top acting performance cynically designed to get attention (which certainly worked) or just the most pathetic thing I've ever seen. I know some people found it funny - I couldn't even finish watching it.

Thanks for reminding me about it though - I had to rewatch Matt's video again just to clear the air...B-)

Oh God, I totally agree with you!

I hope my comment wasn't worded in a way that made it sound like I was supporting the "Leave Britney Alone" video. What I meant was, the video you posted showed how good internet videos are, especially compared with the sad Chris Crockers on the Web. Perhaps my syntax was shaky.

Don't worry, if I ever did believe a video like that, I'd punch myself in the back of the head.

No worries Jamie...I knew exactly what you meant. I think it was my own syntax that was failing...

So no need to bash your skull in yet. B-)

Found your site a comment you made at Lazy Eye Theater. Anyone who lists "You, the Living" as a favorite deserves to have their site read. :)

Quite possibly the best theater experience of the year so far.

Hi Joseph, thanks for the comment!

Man, that's great to hear of someone else who loved this film. I wrote a review of it at the time.

Can someone out there tell me :

1/ How can I save this onto my PC - I want to watch this every morning to put me in a great mood for the day, and ...

2/ What is the lovely haunting music, who is the band or the singer ?

Anyone help ? I need to save this as I live in the countryside in New Zealand and it literally took me half an hour to download this video.

Thanks

Hi Geoff88...

For the song here's a section from the Wikipedia article on Matt: The background music/song of this video is called as "Praan" composed by Garry Schyman and sung by Palbasha Siddique, with lyrics adapted from the poem "Stream of Life," a part of the Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore

As for saving the video locally, I haven't not tried this, but it looks like it might work. No promises! Good luck...
